29. aprillil Tallinn Coffee Festivalil toimunud esimestel Eesti AeroPressi Meistrivõistlustel saavutas võidu Karlova Kohvis baristana töötav Laura Valli. KAFO lennutab kohvieksperdi novembrikuus Soulis toimuvatele maailmameistrivõistlusele, kus noorel naisel tuleb mõõtu võtta parimate kohviprofessionaalidega kogu maailmast.
Laura on kohvimaailmaga olnud tõsisemalt seotud veidi üle aasta. “AeroPressi puhul on väga oluline teada, millistest ubadest, millise koguse ning millise veega lõpptulemus valmib,” selgitas barista. “Mina jõudsin kõige sobivama kombinatsioonini katse- ja eksitusmeetodil alles võistlupäeva hommikul.”
Pingelise võistluse II koha pälvis Kristi Leibur, kolmandaks tuli Mart Roosimägi ning neljandaks EPL ajakirjanik Mihkel Tamm. Olgu öeldud, et Kristi, Mart ja Mihkel on kodused kohvisõbrad, kes kuskil kohvikus ei tööta! Nii et pane tähele – Sul tasub järgmisel aastal kindlasti proovida!
Esineliku võistlusretseptid on sellised:
I koht
Laura Valli (Karlova Kohv)
Coffee: 20,4 g
Water: 240 g @ 84°C
Brewer: Inverted
Filter: Paper
Water: Tallinn tap water, unfiltered
Grind coffee at “4.5” on a Porlex hand grinder
Heat water to 84°C
Start the timer and add all the water.
Stir 2 times north to south.
Turn the AeroPress upright at 1:10, start pressing down at 1:15 and aim to finish at 1:45.
Cool the brew for at least 3 minutes, swirling it in a large glass or porcelain vessel. Pour into the serving cup to cool even further.

How: 65 g of water for blooming, stir, add remaining water and wait until 1 min, start pressing, end at 1:35

Coffee: 20 g
Grind: 75 on Compak R8
Water: Third wave water
Temp: 93°C
Brewer: Upright
Filter: Double paper
How: Pour 40 g of water on coffee for 10 sec, stir for 10 sec, bloom for 10 sec. Add 190 g of water for 40 sec, gentle stir & plunge for 40 sec, total brew time 1:50
IV koht
Mihkel Tamm
Coffee: 23 g
Grind: 73 @ Compak R8
Water: 230 g
Temp: 93°C
Brewer: Inverted
How: Heat water to 93°C, pour 15 sec and stir 45 sec. Pressing down for 20 sec. Total brew time 1:20
